The Dangers of Unsafe Drinking Water

Just because the water looks clean, that does not mean it is safe to drink. When the water you drink is contaminated by human feces or animal feces you are prone to suffer from water borne diseases.

This is because human and animal feces contain pathogenic microorganisms, in other words organisms capable of producing disease.

In countries where drinking water is not treated, when it rains, floodwaters can carry with it raw sewage, animal remains, and other wastes that can cause diarrhea other water borne diseases.

Unsafe drinking water in third countries account for four-fifths of all the illnesses with diarrhea being the leading cause of childhood death.
