Short term health insurance is one of the easiest types of insurance to purchase online. It is meant to cover major emergency medical expenses for people who are temporarily without other health insurance. Sometimes referred to as catastrophic health insurance, it is not designed to be your primary health insurance. It won't pay for preventive health care, routine office visits, and prescriptions for pre-existing health conditions like asthma and diabetes, or treatment for pre-existing conditions.
